The new passengers terminal will be ready in six months starting from the date of signing the contract

Tripoli-based Transportation Ministry said it will contract with an Italian company to carry out the reconstruction of the passengers terminal at the Tripoli International Airport.

The Head of media office of the Transportation Ministry, Siraj Al-Hammal, said the ceremony of the signing of the contract will be held at Tripoli International Airport in the VIP lounge on Wednesday.

Al-Hammal added that the signing ceremony will be attended by the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Perrone, members of the government, and other political figures.

"The Italian company vowed to finish the reconstruction of the new passengers’ terminal in no more than six months starting from the date of signing the contract." He indicated.

A Libyan Airlines plane touched down in Tripoli International Airport on Tuesday to mark the first landing in the airport since 2014.
