A source in the Security Department for the Protection of Bani Walid stated that members of their unit seized an amount totaling to 2.5 million dollars during a raid on a criminal gang on Monday. The department indicated that the amount seized was in $100 dollar bills but after careful examination of the bills it was determined that it was counterfeit currency.

The department called on Bani Walid residents to take caution when buying foreign currency and to report any activity contrary to the law on this matter.
