The Libyan national U20 football team arrived Saturday in Bafoussam, Cameroon, after a tedious journey from Libya to Tunisia then passing through Morocco and off to Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé, then into Bafoussam, where the match with Cameroon U20 team will take place on Sunday as part of the qualifiers for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, Zambia 2017.

Libya’s national basketball team plays Egypt Saturday evening in the opening match of the sixteenth version of the Arab U18 Basketball Championship, which is taking place in Alexandria’s Al-Olumbi club on July 9-17. In addition to Libya and Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, and Iraq are taking part in the competition.

The spokesman of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Libya, Ahmed Al-Aliggi, said there are more than 5,000 cancer patients in Tobruk city and its suburbs, pointing out that the chemotherapy is not available in the country and that Al-Thanni government’s Health Ministry is unable to provide such a therapy due to the current Libyan status quo.

57,665 students are going to sit for the Libyan secondary school certificate exam (baccalaureate) on Sunday across the country, the Tripoli-based Education Ministry announced earlier on Saturday. It added that the number of students includes both literary and scientific secondary school branches, home-schooled students, and failing students. Exam questions will be MCQs and the papers will be marked automatically, the Head of the Tripoli Examinations Department, Mohammed Al-Arousi explained.

Member of the High Council of State, Mansour Al-Hasadi, denounced Saturday’s airstrikes by Dignity Operation’s air force on Derna, calling on the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council to clarify their stance regarding the killing of civilians and destruction of houses in the city.

Dignity Operation air force has carried out new airstrikes on Derna Saturday dawn targeting 4 locations at the city center and injuring 12 civilians, one of whom has been reportedly killed, let alone the considerable destruction it caused to the houses.

After low water flow to the capital lasting for days, the Industrial River System announced that the amounts of water flowing to Tripoli have risen Saturday to 340m2 out of the normal capacity of 540m2 saying the continuous outages of electricity in the south led to the current inefficiency in the system.

The Zintan Municipality, Social Committee and Military Council of Zintan revolutionaries confirmed in a statement Friday that Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi is still behind bars and has not been released at all, thus denying the news that indicated he has been released.
