Huge lines of cars stopping by gas stations have been reported in Tripoli since Wednesday evening after the transportation of fuel from the Brega Petroleum Marketing Company's main oil tanks on Airport Road to gas stations via the tanker trucks had been suspended by the drivers’ strike.

A source at the National Oil Corporation said Al-Sidra oil terminal has resumed exploration after two years of closure, confirming that the Norwegian Statoil Company will ship 80 thousand tons of crude oil aboard Sea Music oil tanker on Friday and that another shipment will be laden with oil before the end of 2016.

Sabratha security forces arrested a three-man gang that has been robbing and vandalizing electric towers and wires that transfer power to Al-Ajilat. An electricity official in Sabratha said what the gang has stolen so far is worth 100 thousand dinars, adding that the culprits were sent to the Attorney General’s Office.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya rejected the formation of the Presidential Guard by youths or recruiting them in such an apparatus as the guard’s commander proposed on media, saying the guard is supposed to be formed from officers and military and police ranks.

UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council deputy, Ahmed Mitig, and the Financial Minister ordered the paying out of the salaries for the Libyan Ground Handling Company workers as per a previous ordinance by the Presidential Council. An imminent strike by the workers might cripple flights arriving in and departing from the Libyan airports.
