The Head of Planning Department at eastern government’s Housing Ministry, Faraj Al-Rabhi, said he was robbed at gunpoint last Saturday while he was entering the building where he lived in Al-Bayda. He said three masked men took his car keys and got away, adding that this happened because he is trying to end financial corruption at the ministry, especially the project of 5000 housing units for Benghazi IDPs.

The eastern military governor, Abdelraziq Al-Nathori, ordered the civil registry bureaus and officials to cancel the procedures of granting Libyan citizenship (2011 procedures), which actually saw a lot of corruption since it started in 2011, especially in the east.

The Tripoli-based Attorney General’s office summoned the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Musatfa Sanallah, to write down his statements and standpoint as a reference regarding the cases of oil smuggling, shutdown of oilfields and terminals and closure of pipelines as well as the methods of distributing fuel.

The Chairman of the Ahel Al-Khair Charity, which kicked off “Donate to keep them alive,” campaign to support the patients at Libya Tumors Center, said the campaign succeeded again in giving the Misrata tumors center, on February 04 – the World Cancer Patients Day -  over 82 thousand dinars to help it in diagnosis and other procedures.

Clashes broke out again in Abu Nasib and Buildings 12 areas in Ganfouda, Benghazi, between Benghazi Shura Council and Haftar’s forces. The areas were calm in the last days after Haftar’s forces shelled them heavily along with air attacks for their fighters to advance and control the district.

Local media reported an employee at the Libyan embassy, of the UN-proposed government, in Cairo as saying that a group, related to Al-Thanni-appointed attaché, stormed into the embassy’s HQ in Aswan near The Arab League Street in Cairo. He added that the storming aimed at stealing the new passports electronic system that was installed in the embassy, but they failed.

The media office of Zintan Airport, 180 km west of Tripoli, said a sum of money arrived in the city coming from the parallel Central Bank of Libya in Al-Bayda, adding that the money will be distributed to the western mountain and western coast districts.

The Dean of Sirte University, Mousa Mousa, appointed a committee to check the status of study labs at the Sciences, Engineering and Agriculture faculties as well as the stocks and offices to see the amount of damage done to them. He added that after the report of the committee, a local company will be appointed to do a full maintenance to help speed up the reopening of study at schools and university this March.

The Audit Bureau sent a letter to official authorities including the Presidential Council and the Central Bank of Libya to stick to the legislations when contracting employees for new posts, saying that the appointments that don’t abide by the legislations are crimes as per the laws of nepotism. It added that all those who violate the laws will be sent to court.
