The head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla said that Libya aims to produce 1.25 million barrels per day by the end of this year and 1.5 million barrels per day by the end of 2018. Sanalla also stated in a visit he made to Benghazi that his country hopes production will reach 2.1 million barrels per day in four to five years.

Tarhuna Municipal Council announced the arrival of a large delegation of elders from the eastern region on Wednesday evening. This comes in preparation for the National Reconciliation Forum, according to the council's press office. The visiting delegation met with members of the Council of Sheikhs and Dignitaries of Tarhuna, in the city's Shura Hall, where several speeches were delivered on reconciliation. Meetings are said to continue on Thursday.

The Mayor of Zintan Municipality, Mustafa Barouni, confirmed that they have not yet received an official invitation to attend the first meeting of the municipalities of Libya, which is to be held at the Dar Tellile tourist complex in Sabratha. It is considered to be likely that the invitation was not received by the Zintan Council unintentionally. Barouni added that he expected the attendance of the Zintan Municipality Council as there are several internal problems that require their presence to be resolved and considered.

The head of the Investigations Department at the Attorney General's Office, Sadiq Sur revealed that an investigation into ISIS members will be completed within two weeks. Sur pointed out that foreign nationalities among their ranks add up to approximately 23 to 24 nationalities, which constituted the majority of members of the terror organization. Most Sur said entered Libya through the routes used by illegal migrators. Internal and external interrogation will be undergone and those proven to be involved with ISIS will be forwarded to Interpol.

A number of young volunteers from the Peace Association of Bani Walid, in coordination with the Bani Walid Hospital and the Public Prosecutor of the city, buried a number of unidentified bodies belonging to illegal immigrants who were kept at the local morgue refrigerators at the hospital.

The Minister of Education issued a decision to cancel the examinations of thirty students and considered them as absentees in order to prove cases of cheating on the exam and their use of mobile devices used in leaking exam questions outside the examination hall.

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has confirmed its commitment to the date set as mid-August to launch the pilot project of e-payment services over the phone. The launch of the service in September will allow citizens to use their mobile phone as a means of paying for normal needs from markets and shops among other things.

Libya's tennis team has won its first match in Davis Cup qualifier in Egypt this week. This is Libya's first win in the Davis Cup which is the oldest in the world. Ahmed Mohan and Mohammed Qashout defeated the Botswanan team in both individual and doubles competitions. Libya is participated in the tournament with three athletes.

The head of the Presidential Council, Faiz Sarraj, held a discussion with the head of the High National Electoral Commission Imad Sayah on ways to support the Commission in preparation for any future elections yesterday in Tripoli. Sayah stressed that there are technical details that need to be considered and that they should introduce international expertise to better prepare the Commission for its tasks once the political parties agree to the election.

The former Spanish coach of the Libyan football team Javier Clemente, said that a decision to impose sanctions on the Libyan Football Federation by FIFA should not be a reason for Libyan football to collapse. Clemente also confirmed that he gave up a large part of his dues in recognition of the Libyan people who are suffering difficult circumstances, adding that the ball is now in the court of the Libyan Football Federation to pay its debts by the end of next September.

The administration of the southern region of Mount Al-Hasawna System announced that the Jafara plain in the Man Made River System has increased the number of wells that were out of service to more than 200 wells, most of which needed spare parts. The administration stressed that a number of wells were ransacked and their equipment and pumps were stolen costing the country large sums of money to replace. It is a fact that repeated attacks on the water networks for the reason of theft or vandalism is occurring because of armed clashes and locals connecting illegally to the system is also having a negative effect on the system.
