The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) documented 36 civilian casualties; 15 deaths and 21 injuries, during the conduct of hostilities across Libya from July 01 to July 31.

Amnesty International has criticized the Italian plans to deploy warships in Libyan waters to combat illegal immigration, saying it is a shameful attempt by the Italian authorities to circumvent their duty to rescue refugees and migrants at sea and to offer protection to those who need it.

The Commander of Omer Al-Mukhtar operations room of Dignity Operation, Col. Salem Al-Rafadi, has been wounded in a traffic accident near Al-Azayat district, south of Derna, while on his way to Martuba town, 27 km south of the city.

Libyan coach Abdulhafith Arbish said Al-Itihad club management ended contract with him without adding any further reasons. He said that he wishes Al-Itihad the best in the football world. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized its first deportation trip from Libya to Ghana with 138 nationals onboard. IOM also deported last Wednesday 262 Nigerian nationals home.

Western Mountain agricultural sector conducted Monday a workshop that will last two days aiming at preventing germs from being spread in the fields. The idea was urged due to the damage done to the olive trees in Libya. The work shop is in coordination with FAO and several Libyan municipalities.

The Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) urged the High National Elections Committee (HNEC) to conduct polls for the endorsed constitution draft. The HNEC said such a poll needs a law to regulate its process, calling on Libyans to exercise their right to vote once any rightful elections take place.

GECOL said gunmen attacked and damaged the area where a new power generator was being installed in the industrial block in Tajoura. GECOL said the gunmen looted the forklift with the generator before being installed after horrifying the driver away by force.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the seven fishermen who were arrested in Zuwara last Thursday were released. Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalid Rizq, said on Facebook that the joint efforts of the two countries led to freeing the fishermen, who were detained in the Libyan waters.

Tunisian Defense Minister, Ferhat Horchani, denied Haftar’s statement, which he made to France 24 about the lack of Tunisian-Libyan security cooperation, saying there is crucial security cooperation between the two countries from Bengurdane and Dahiba borders, adding that it is not important with whom Tunisia cooperates, what matter is that it doesn’t cooperate with terrorists. He also said that they are cooperating with the Libyan parties all and the Libyan army on the borders with Tunisia.
