Misrata municipality rejected the news circulated on "irresponsible media outlets" regarding the clashes in Castelverde, eastern tripoli. It added that the attacking forces and brigades are not from Misrata city.

The Chief of Staff of Hefter’s forces AbdulRaziq Nadori, who is also the appointed military governor of the eastern region, released a decision to appoint AbdulJalil Hamad as mayor of Qammenis. This decision has substituted the elected mayor of the city for a military officer and wouldn’t be the first time as Nadori has in the past replaced a large number of elected mayors in the eastern region, substituting them with new military figures or civilians who strongly support Hefter’s dignity operation.

The Minister of Health of the UN proposed government, Omar Al-Tahir, conducted a meeting with a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) in Libya on Tuesday evening. Among those present was the official responsible for medical supplies in the organization Najwa Imam and the supply officer Khairiya Hashashi. The two sides discussed coordination between the ministry and WHO on how to develop new mechanisms aimed at identifying medical needs, providing medicines, medical supplies, developing methods of managing medical stores, and spreading the pharmaceutical culture according to the international standards adopted by the organization.

A group marriage of 20 young people with disabilities was held in Benghazi, under the supervision and sponsorship of the Marriage Support Fund, Libyana and Al-Madar Al-Jadeed. Both Al-Madar Al-Jadeed and Libyana offered money and gifts to the newlywed couples.

The Special Representative of UNICEF in Libya, Ghasan Khalil welcomed the decision of the Bani Walid Local Council to commit to the demobilization, rehabilitation and reintegration of youth who are associated with armed groups in their municipality. Ghasan also called on all municipalities in Libya to follow the same approach, as part of the UNICEF National Campaign Together for Children which was launched in April 2015.

The Information Office of the President of the Presidential Council stated that Fayez Serraj issued instructions to the Ministry of Health to take urgent and immediate measures to provide all the necessary requirements for resolving the crisis in the health sector of the city of Ghat and the southern region in general. The office added that Serraj met with the Minister of Health’s deputy, the Director of the Pharmacy Department and the Advisor of the Presidential Council for Health Affairs and also Saleh Hema, who is a member of the House of Representatives for the city of Ghat. The meeting addressed the needs of health facilities in the city, medical supplies and equipment as well as a lack of ambulances. Also on the agenda was strengthening the position of medical staff in the city.

Security sources in the eastern region told the official news agency of the eastern Interim Government that a fire was found to have contained six bodies, five of which were completely charred, while the sixth was slightly burned. The agency added that preliminary investigations on the Magroon Road, west of Benghazi, indicated an explosion inside a car due to the presence of explosives which was more than likely the cause of death of the passengers.

The Minister of Education, Othman Abdul Jalil, called upon the Education Commissioner, the Follow-up and Examinations Department and the Director of the Examinations Office in the Educational Zone of Qasr Bin Ghashir to report violations in the examination committees and the presence of what he said were confirmed frauds. Abdul Jalil confirmed the adoption of strict measures against any officials who contributed to failures in protecting examination material of students in the primary and secondary educational system.

The General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL) confirmed that work is under way to complete all the final stages of the Ubari Electricity station. The company was referring to the arrival of trucks carrying materials and equipment needed to complete the station. GECOL said in a statement published on Tuesday night that the installation process for this important part of the station will take place as soon as possible which will result in the company benefitting from the maximum power output produced from the Ubari power plant.

Local sources confirmed that the area of Castelverde and its environs are experiencing a state of instability as a result of events in the region. Sources said that most shops and fuel stations are closed, while schools which should be holding examinations are all suspended until stability in the area is improved. Sources also said that the coastal road is still closed because of military groups gathered at the gate of the Military Police and the former 101 gate, which has caused cars to detour towards the Tarhuna road to travel to and from Tripoli.
