Mufti: Forming Advisory Committee is absurd, UNSMIL is deepening Libya's crisis
The Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Ghariani, described the announcement of the UN mission to form an advisory committee without clarifying the criteria for selecting its members as absurd.
The Mufti said in his weekly program on Tanasuh TV that the words issued by the UN mission were nothing but a vicious circle of its previous words, and an increase in deepening the crisis in Libya.

UNSMIL called on all relevant authorities in Libya to work toward an agreement on a unified budget without delay, saying it had taken note of the statement issued by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Board of Directors following its first meeting in 2025 and underscored the urgent need for consensus on a balanced, unified budget.
Libya Cup returns after two-season hiatus
The Libyan Football Federation’s (LFF) Competition Committee has announced the return of the Libya Cup, marking the 24th edition of the tournament after a two-season break.
In a circular addressed to registered clubs, the committee confirmed that participation is mandatory for all 35 Premier League teams.

The UN Security Council has approved the appointment of Ghanaian diplomat, Hannah Serwaa Tetteh as the UN Special Envoy to Libya. A long time passed behind the scenes of the Security Council before the dispute over who would succeed the former envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, was resolved between Russia on the one hand and America and Britain on the other. After the name of the Ghanaian candidate was put forward to the Council by the UN Secretary-General, the members voted in approval, but the Russian delegate asked for some time to study before announcing his country’s approval of Ms Tetteh.
