Libyan figures urge UN to back constituent council proposal
A coalition of 223 prominent Libyan citizens—comprising politicians, activists, and civil society leaders—has formally called on Hanna Tetteh, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Libya, to endorse a proposal for establishing a Constituent Council.
This proposal, known as “Proposal Four,” was developed by an advisory panel appointed by the UN Support Mission in Libya. It calls for the formation of a new executive body to oversee constitutional reform and electoral preparation, effectively replacing the current political institutions.
96% completion reached on gas utilization project at J22 field in Sarir and Messla
The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), announced that 96% of the gas utilization project at the J22 field, located in the Sarir and Messla regions, has been completed.
In a recent meeting with German contractor Ferrostaal, which is responsible for executing the project, both sides agreed to begin the final phase on July 15.
This phase will coincide with a comprehensive training program for 42 technical staff members, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring high-quality performance, according to the AGOCO’s Facebook page.
Libyan football league’s championship round to be held in Italy for 2nd year in a row
The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has officially announced that the championship round of the Libyan Premier League will be held in Milan, Italy, for the second consecutive year. The LFF confirmed that it had started, in collaboration with Libyan governmental entities, completing the necessary administrative and technical arrangements to organize this major football event, which represents the decisive stage of the sports season.
