The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expects the northern regions of the country to witness scattered rainfall, which will be good today in the regions (Gulf of Sidra - Ajdabiya) and tomorrow in the regions extending from Benghazi to the Green Mountain, accompanied by thunderstorms, which may cause some local valleys to flow and water to collect in low places.

CBL to print 30 billion dinars in order to withdraw old banknotes

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has announced signing contracts to print 30 billion dinars to replace the old currency, saying the old banknotes will be withdrawn "smoothly" at a later-set date. 

This came during a meeting held by the Governor of the Central Bank, Naji Issa, to review the plan of the Central Bank of Libya to solve the problem of cash shortages.

During the meeting, it was agreed to raise the ceilings for immediate payment at the level of individuals and merchants to 20,000 dinars for a single transfer for individuals, and 100,000 for a single purchase transaction.

Libya defeats Rwanda, revives hopes for AFCON qualification

The Libyan national football team secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Rwanda on Thursday evening in Kigali during the fifth round of qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco next year.

Substitute player Fahd Al-Mesmari scored the decisive goal in the 83rd minute, earning Libya three valuable points.

Following this win, Libya now sits fourth in the group with four points. Nigeria leads with ten points, followed by Benin with six points, and Rwanda in third with five points.

Libya participates in cultural and creative industries forum in Tunisia

The second regional forum on cultural and creative industries in the Arab world concluded in Hammamet, Tunisia, after three days of discussions from November 27 to 29.

Libya’s Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries announced the participation of Najib Al-Habshi, Director of the Department of Traditional Industries, as the country’s representative at the event.

The forum focused on developing traditional and creative industries, emphasizing their role in sustainable development across the Arab world.

The Libyan National Security Council hosted its second workshop on Saturday in Tripoli, titled "Educational Policies: Between Reality and Development." The event brought together education specialists, school administrators, training centre representatives, curriculum developers, social workers, and parents to discuss Libya's education system.

Seasonal flu vaccination campaign launched by NCDC

The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has officially launched its seasonal influenza vaccination campaign on,Sunday.

The initiative, which runs until the end of the month, is part of a broader effort to bolster community immunity and protect public health.

According to the centre, the campaign aims to prevent infections among healthcare workers, ensuring the safety of medical service recipients, especially those at high risk of complications. Officials have stressed that vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent the spread of influenza.

Municipal elections nullify invalid arguments

Perhaps the most important part of the fact of success of municipal elections is the invalidity of the political sides’ argument of the necessity of forming a single government in order for the general elections to be held.
