Libya signs MoU with Egypt to develop training quality and institutional accreditation

The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity announced on Monday the signing of a memorandum of understanding between its affiliated Center for Quality Assurance and Professional Calibration and the Egyptian National Council for Training and Education. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 51st Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.

Central Bank authorizes licensed exchange offices to sell foreign currency with  7% profit margin

The Central Bank of Libya has authorized exchange companies and offices licensed by the bank to sell foreign currency with a 7% profit margin over the Central Bank's selling price to banks operating in Libya.

This came in a letter sent by the Director of the Banking and Monetary Control Department at the Central Bank to licensed exchange offices and companies.

 The Central Bank warned that exchange companies will be subject to continuous and periodic monitoring through field inspections to assess their compliance with the Central Bank's instructions.

Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr win as Al-Akhdar, Al-Ahly Benghazi draw in opening league matches

The first leg of the first round in the Eastern Region of the Libyan Football League saw victories for Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr, while the match between Al-Akhdar and Al-Ahly Benghazi ended in a goalless draw.

In the city of Shahat, Al-Hilal secured a valuable 1-0 away win against Al-Sadaqa, with the goal scored by Hami Al-Tunji. The win raised Al-Hilal’s tally to six points, benefiting from the three bonus points awarded for topping their group, while Al-Sadaqa remained at one point.

Culture minister discusses support for cultural institutions

Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabrouka Tougi, has held a series of meetings aimed at strengthening the country’s cultural sector and enhancing regional and international cooperation.

In a meeting with Mohamed Awad, Director of Misrata Cultural Radio, Minister Tougi discussed strategies to support the station, ensure the continuity of its broadcasts, and improve its cultural content.

In a separate engagement, the Minister met with Nasser Brini, Mayor of Gharyan, to explore opportunities for collaboration to revitalise the city’s cultural landscape.

Higher Education Ministry says UNESCO wants to reopen its office in Tripoli

‎The UNESCO Regional Director for North Africa, Eric Falt, expressed on Monday the organization's desire to open a UNESCO office in Libya, pointing out the importance of permanent and direct communication in order to overcome all difficulties to complete stalled and future projects, according to a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Al-Sayeh: Over 4.000 cancer patients have recovered thanks to Libyan medics

The Head of Libya’s National Anti-Cancer Authority, Haidar Al-Sayah, revealed that over 4,000 patients have fully recovered from cancer thanks to Libyan medical efforts.

In a speech published by the Libyan International Conference on Oncology and Radiotherapy, Al-Sayah said that more than 4,000 scans were conducted in the country over the past year.
