Libyan Prime Minister says "no war from now on"
The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said in a speech at an event at the Libyan Academy for Information and Technology on Saturday that there "will be no more wars in Libya from today on and will only be improvement of life and development for all people in the country."
Libya holds third oil technology conference under NOC's supervision
The third edition of the Libyan Conference on Oil and Gas Technologies kicked off on Tuesday under the auspices of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and with the participation of ADNOC and Baker Hughes oil and energy groups.
The opening ceremony was marked by a broad turnout of experts and senior officials from local and international oil companies.
"The conference comes within the framework of the NOC and its companies' contribution to strengthening cooperation and openness with leading international companies in the oil and gas field," Ahmed Ammar, a senior official at the NOC said.
Russia takes over Libya in international mini-football tournament in Istanbul
Russia won the international mini-football title after taking over Libya in the final in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Russians snatched their nail-biting victory with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out after the regular time ended in a stalemate with 1-1 on the scoring board.
Libya opened the score in minute 32nd before the Russians equalized by a penalty kick in minute 49.
The national mini-football team reached the finals after brushing off Turkey in the semi-finals.
Rare bird spotted in Libya for third time
A bird species that hadn’t been seen in Libya for nearly 15 years made a surprising return on May 14.
The Libyan Organization for Conservation of Nature confirmed this is the third time the Terek sandpiper has ever been spotted in Libya and the first in the Western region.
The previous records were both in the eastern parts of the country in 2008.
The species was spotted by the Organization's team while on a trip it conducted in coordination with the Misrata Environmental Affairs Monitor to the wetlands in Misrata.
Trafalgar school team champs at international competition in Jordan

Organized by the Jordanian International examination, the competition consists of five domains, which test the participants' competence in a range of skills, including teamwork, theatrical performance, community service, OET English test, and project.
The team of five from the Trafalgar International School was selected by the Education Ministry to represent Libya in the competition.
UNICEF provides 55,000 doses of measles and rubella vaccines to southern Libya
UNICEF Libya, in partnership with the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), has provided 55,000 doses of measles and rubella vaccines in response to the current measles outbreak in southern Libya.
UNICEF explained in a statement that the vaccines arrived last week, and were delivered to the Medical Supply Services in preparation for the launch of the national campaign to combat measles and rubella, which targets the southern region as a first stage.
Potential shifts in the Libyan crisis
The war in Sudan will have serious repercussions on the Libyan crisis, far more than Sudan’s other neighboring countries. Political stability enjoyed by these countries will leverage security threats, and will further confuse the US strategy in Libya, which seeks to form a joint armed force from the conflicting powers, and achieve a political consensus, conducive to elections before the end of the year.
