Ministry of Local Government: 10% of Libyan coastline unsafe for swimming due to pollution

The Libyan Ministry of Local Government has issued a decision banning swimming at several coastal sites across multiple municipalities due to high pollution levels, which affect approximately 10% of the country’s shoreline.

The decision targets locations in the municipalities of Tajura, Souq Al-Jumua, Central Tripoli, Hay Al-Andalus, Misrata, Zliten, Sabratha, Tobruk, and Al-Khums, where water quality was deemed unfit for swimming during the summer of 2025.

Tunisian MPs urge reactivation of free trade zones with Libya

Members of the Tunisian Parliament have called on the Parliamentary Cooperation Group with Arab States to push for a more active government role in Libya’s reconstruction and the reactivation of free trade zones, by strengthening Tunisia’s diplomatic presence.

This came during a consultative meeting with representatives from the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to a parliamentary press release.

Libyan football league’s championship round to be held in Italy for 2nd year in a row

The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has officially announced that the championship round of the Libyan Premier League will be held in Milan, Italy, for the second consecutive year. The event is being sponsored by the Government of National Unity, in direct coordination with the Italian Football Federation and with support from the Italian government.

The LFF confirmed that it had started, in collaboration with Libyan governmental entities, completing the necessary administrative and technical arrangements to organize this major football event, which represents the decisive stage of the sports season.
