Tunisian Electricity Company thanks its Libyan counterpart for its assistance
The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company has expressed its thanks and appreciation for the assistance and support provided by the General Electricity Company of Libya during the exceptional circumstance that the Tunisian electrical grid went through in the past days, which led to complete blackout of the entire country.
The company explained in a statement that the Libyan support contributed to overcoming the crisis in record time and with minimal damage.
CBL holds annual Libyan Banking Conference on Compliance
The second annual Libyan Banking Conference on Compliance kicked off in the Capital, Tripoli, on Monday under the supervision of Libya's Central Bank (CBL) and in cooperation with the Arab Banking Corporation "Bank ABC."
The conference featured a host of officials working in the banking sector, including directors of the CBL departments and representatives of the Arab Banking Corporation from Bahrain, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, and Libya, besides officials from the Libyan commercial banks, sovereign investment funds, and electronic payment companies.

Libya among countries with highest water intake
Libya has the highest rate of water consumption in the Arab region and the world, estimated at 2,392 litres per capita per day, a recent UN publication reveals.
According to the bulletin, Libya consumes more than 80% of its renewable water resources despite being one of the most threatened countries in the world by water stress.
"Libya uses three times the average per capita consumption in the Arab world," the circular states.
Education Ministry says operating budget for schools has reached 85 million dinars
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Masouda Al-Aswad, said that the operating budget of educational institutions for the new academic year amounted to about 85 million dinars.
Masouda told the government's media platform Hakomitna that the distribution was according to the number of students in each area, indicating that 80% of the schools fulfilled the data and were ready to spend their budget, and that the schools located in 45 areas out of 90 had bank accounts that received their checks.
WHO says hasn't received enough support to help about 250.000 in Libya's disaster areas
The Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Ahmed Al-Mandhari, appealed to supporters and partners to provide the necessary financial resources to deal with the areas affected by the floods in Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar, especially in Derna, pointing out that they were unable to obtain sufficient support and appropriate funding to help about 250,000 people in those areas despite the urgent call for relief response.
Derna events; ambiguity and lack of transparency
As expected from every authoritarian regime with no fear of accountability and ousting, there is a lack of transparency in dealing with the disaster in Derna. It is not yet known what has gone of Derna, is it half of it, a third of it, a quarter of it? Nobody knows! There is no credible data or realistic statistics issued, or broadcast through media moment by moment, as is the case in such situations in all countries.
