Attorney General orders crackdown on citizenship fraud
The Attorney General has called for criminal charges to be filed against individuals accused of tampering with civil registry data, as part of a sweeping national campaign to combat identity fraud and protect the integrity of citizenship records.
In a statement this week, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed that firm legal action will be taken against those involved in the falsification of documents, regardless of motive or method.
CBL issues circular for speculation certificates for investors at banks
The Banking and Currency Supervision Department at the Central Bank of Libya has called for the issuance of unrestricted speculation deposit certificates for clients of commercial banks who hold investment accounts.
In a circular addressed to the directors of commercial banks, the department outlined the Central Bank’s instructions regarding these certificates, stating they should be designated for investing customer balances in investment accounts at Libyan banks, with an expected annual return of 5.5% for the banks. The certificates will be issued in three maturities: 91, 182, and 365 days, respectively.
Libyan Football Federation kicks off anti-doping tests for upcoming league matches
The Libyan Football Federation announced on Saturday the commencement of anti-doping tests by randomly selecting samples from players participating in the Championship Round of the Premier League, as part of efforts to ensure integrity and fair play.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the federation said this step reflects its commitment to promoting the principles of integrity and fair play. It forms part of its broader anti-doping procedures for the Libyan Premier League, conducted in cooperation with the Libyan Anti-Doping Committee.
Culture minister discusses support for cultural institutions
Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabrouka Tougi, has held a series of meetings aimed at strengthening the country’s cultural sector and enhancing regional and international cooperation.
In a meeting with Mohamed Awad, Director of Misrata Cultural Radio, Minister Tougi discussed strategies to support the station, ensure the continuity of its broadcasts, and improve its cultural content.
