HNEC holds training workshop on electoral disputes
A workshop on electoral dispute resolution has begun in the Tunisian capital, organised by Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC) with support from the UNDP–UNSMIL electoral assistance project. The event targets presidents of primary courts across Libya.
The commission said the opening day was attended by HNEC board member Abdelhakim Al-Shaab and Legal Office Director Alaa Al-Shaibani, both of whom highlighted the importance of cooperation between the judiciary and the commission to ensure transparent and fair upcoming elections.
CBL, Administrative Control Authority form joint committee for economic reforms
The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and the Administrative Control Authority have agreed to form a joint task force to monitor and implement recommendations and outcomes related to economic reforms.
This agreement was the key outcome of a meeting between Central Bank Governor Naji Issa and the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Gaderbouh, attended by several department heads and officials from both institutions.
Al-Hilal and Al-Sweihli top two groups of Libyan Football League

Libyan court jails 11 bank staff for embezzling millions
Tripoli Criminal Court has sentenced 11 employees of a bank branch in Tripoli to varying prison terms after finding them guilty of embezzling 29 million Libyan dinars from a government-linked account.
The employees, all working at a branch of the National Commercial Bank based in Tripoli Central Hospital, were convicted by the Criminal Court of the Tripoli Court of Appeals.
The funds were allegedly taken from an account designated for certified checks issued through the bank agency.
Higher Education Ministry says UNESCO wants to reopen its office in Tripoli
The UNESCO Regional Director for North Africa, Eric Falt, expressed on Monday the organization's desire to open a UNESCO office in Libya, pointing out the importance of permanent and direct communication in order to overcome all difficulties to complete stalled and future projects, according to a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Cancer Control Authority: Libya hasn't imported medicines from Iraq
The Head of the National Cancer Control Authority, Haider Al-Sayah, stated that the Authority has not imported any medicine from Iraq or any Arab or Asian country.
Al-Sayah confirmed via his Facebook page that the Cancer Control Authority imports medications from the United States of America and Europe.
He stressed that the Authority is not responsible for any medicine imported outside its system and held those who do so accountable for any consequences that may arise.
The epic of the upcoming political process
UN envoy Hannah Tetteh has announced during her first briefing to the UN Security Council that the legal committee tasked by the United Nations with developing legal proposals and options to resolve the political crisis will complete its work before the end of this month. The mission will evaluate these options as the basis for the political process.
Tetteh did not reveal any details about this political process, its stages, or its stakeholders. This is likely to be presented first to the permanent members of the Security Council, and await their comments and demands to ensure their support when it begins implementation.
