IS trawler shelled in Sirte port

A warplane from the air force of the Salvation Government’s General Staff carried an airstrike on an IS trawler in Sirte port Monday morning, Press Solidarity reported of a trusted source from the Libyan air force.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the trawler was transferring weapons for the IS militants in Sirte, pointing that some eyewitnesses in Sirte saw flames going up in the air after the trawler was hit.

Counterfeit hard cash sweeps in Ghadames city

Ghadames News newspaper revealed that counterfeit money - notes worth LYD10, which go back to the first print after February revolution, are being circulated in abundance across the city of Ghadames, underscoring that the money came through the desert by smugglers.

“Smugglers took advantage of the lack of liquidity in the city’s banks, though all Libya is suffering from the same predicament, and splashed in Ghadames markets tens of thousands of Libyan dinars.” The newspaper wrote.

Tobruk parliament’s Health Committee says 9 thousands from Dignity Operation forces killed, 21 thousands injured

Almost 9352 fighters were killed and 21537 others injured from Dignity Operation since its kick-start on May 16, 2014 and until February 23, 2016, a health committee official in Tobruk parliament disclosed.

Press Solidarity reported Monday a source, who refused to be identified, as saying that the civilians killed during the Dignity Operation are almost more than 7500, while the military fighters amounted to 1722.

Tunisian media accuses Libya of exporting terrorism, Salvation Government denounces

The Ministry of Information in the Salvation Government strongly denounced the allegations and accusations of the Tunisian media outlets, both state and private ones, that say Libya is exporting terrorism, pointing that all of the international and national reports on terrorism reaffirm that most of the IS militants in Libya are Tunisian nationals.

Fatwa House reiterates call for ISIS elimination

Libya's top religious body, the Fatwa House, has stressed the need to defeat ISIS, praising Sabratha revolutionaries' move against ISIS militants and their hideouts in the city.

In a statement on Monday, the Fatwa House extended condolences to the families of victims who were killed in the clashes against ISIS, which it described as the criminal organization.

It called on the revolutionaries to unite and discard their differences in the fight against ISIS.

Al-Swaihli gives good performance, fails to make it to the finale

Al-Swaihli volleyball team failed to reach the final match of the 34th version of the Arab Volleyball Championship, which is held in Sousse, Tunisia, after it lost the game to Tunisia’s Al-Najm Al-Sahili 3-1.

Al-Swaihli will play against the Tunisian team, Al-Sfaxi, in the third position match of the Arab Championship, knowing that Al-Swaihli qualified for the semifinals after he had won the match against the Lebanese team, Al-Anwar Al-Jadeeda last Friday by 3-1 score.

Strike of Niamey airport workers puts off Al-Itihad match

The match between Libya’s Al-Itihad and Niger’s Saun Deep in the preliminary round of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup 2016 was delayed due to a strike held by workers at Niamey airport in Niger.

“The match could be postponed and played later, or it could be rendered as a win for the Libyan team, and we’re waiting for the decision of the African Football Federation, which will decide in the coming two days.” Explained the head of the media committee of the Libyan Football Federation, Zain Al-Abideen Burkan.

Casualties of IS attack on Zliten return healthy from Italy

The Libyan Embassy in Rome said Saturday that the casualties of the IS suicide attack on Zliten recruits’ camp in Italian hospitals are recovered and have flown back to Libya.

The member of the medical team in Libya’s embassy in Rome, Abdulkader Abu Fannas, told the press Sunday that the treatment of the first group of injuries of the deadly IS attack on Zliten finished after they had spent eight weeks in intensive care units in Rome Military Hospital.

Haftar confesses his forces robbed and burned houses in Benghazi

The leader of Dignity Operation, renegade General, Khalifa Haftar, has admitted that his loyalist fighters from Awliyaa Al-Dam (Blood Owners) brigade had carried out acts of vandalism, burning and robbing houses and properties as well as random arrests in Benghazi.

In a statement of the so-called Libyan Army Commander in Chief, Haftar disowned the brigade saying they do not belong to his forces although they are, and pointed out that he will bring those who committed such sabotage acts to the specialized authorities.
