Tension between Zintan town and residents of Wirshiffana region remained high on Saturday following the brutal killing of a local man from Zintan by Wirshiffana kidnap gangs.

Zintan military and municipal councils, in addition to the town’s social committee, urged Wirshiffana locals to stay away from Zintan territory in order to avoid violent reactions to the killing.

The CEO of the Libyan National Vaccination Program, Al-Sadiq Al-Bahilil, has warned of the consequences that could take place due to the shortage of children's vaccines across the country.

"I blame the Central Bank of Libya for such a crisis in the health sector in Libya." Al-Bahilil said on Facebook.

CDA and High Council of Libyan Amazigh members meet in Zuwara

Members from the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) have met with the members of the High Council of Libyan Amazigh in Zuwara.

The Sunday meeting is an attempt to convince the Amazigh component to join the CDA after boycotting it since the start without taking part in voting or any other official procedure, CDA member, Nadiya Al-Omrani said in a press statement.

"The accord committee of the CDA has taken into consideration all the points in its latest draft, which is yet to be voted on on May 07." She added.

Factories in Wirshiffana are dismantled and sold for scrap

Satellite images have uncovered looting to state owned factories over long periods. Abandoned factories are slowly being dismantled piece by piece to be recycled.

Reports show that the scrap metal is mainly being transported to the port of Misrata where local merchants are paying more than standard prices as the scrap is being exported and sold for Dollars.

Al-Ahli Benghazi wins Libyan Volleyball League

The Benghazi-based Al-Ahli club has won the Libyan Volleyball League for this season after beating Al-Naser 3-0 on Saturday.

This win and title for Al-Ahli comes as it topped the league's chart with 14 points since it had crushed all its opponents in the tournament that was held in Tobruk.

The previous title holder, Al-Sweihli, came second with 13 points after beating Al-Ahli Tripoli 3-0, but since Al-Ahli managed to win his last game against Al-Naser, Al-Sweihli got out in second place.

Report: Libyan Audit Bureau says Libya's 2016 revenues are the least in modern history

The Libyan Audit Bureau issued its annual report for 2016 to explain the Libyan financial conditions and published in black and white for the public to be familiar with the current state of affairs in their country.

The report showed that Libya only earned 8.6 billion dinars in revenues while it spent over 30 billion, with a deficit of about 21 billion and a total accumulative deficit of 57 billion dinars since the closure of the oil fields and terminals in Libya.

El Sharara oil field resumes production

El Sharara, Libya’s largest oil field, resumed production late on Thursday after gunmen from the mountain town of Zintan, closing an oil pipeline in the neighbouring town of Rayayna, agreed to end their protest.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said it had restored over 200,000 barrels per day of oil production with immediate effect.

The NOC said oil production was resumed after unconditional agreement reached by Zintan elders and Petroleum Facilities Guard with the protesters.

Libyan app lets you converse with deaf-mute people

A group of young talented Libyans from Benghazi has developed an application on mobile phones that will aid and facilitate a better communication for the deaf and mute.

The application has the ability to read sign language and convert it into audio clips by using a sensitive electronic hand.

The developers aim to strengthen deaf-mute people’s dealing with their communication on a daily basis and to ensure that the voice of an important segment of people is heard.
