Libyan army forces intensify operations in southern Tripoli

The Libyan Army forces of the Presidential Council's government have intensified their military operations against the positions of Khalifa Haftar's forces in southern Tripoli.

On Tuesday, the spokesman for the Libyan Army Mohammed Gununu said the Libyan Air Force carried out three airstrikes on positions for Haftar's forces in the vicinity of Tripoli International Airport.

Cyrenaica Society Chairman says they reject Tripoli offensive

The Chairman of the Cyrenaica Society Abdelhamid Al-Kazza met with the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, on Tuesday in Tripoli and told him the gathering is in the final stages of foundation with members from different political, social and cultural backgrounds across Cyrenaica region.

Al-Kazza told Al-Sarraj that the people of the Cyrenaica region - eastern Libya - reject the attack on Tripoli that is led by Khalifa Haftar, denouncing hate speech that is spreading among Libyans.

Libya: Four power units at Al-Zawiya electricity plant out of service

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said gas turbine units 1, 2, 3 and 4 have gone nonoperational at Al-Zawiya power plant, thus deceasing the general network's power production by 600 megawatts.

The director of Al-Zawiya plant said the plant's workers had begun working on restarting power at the units, while a source at the plant added that such a loss of power at the units would worsen the power shortage crisis and increase load shedding hours.

Fire at Sarir oilfield in Libya causes loss of 30.000 bpd

The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported that a fire had erupted early on June 09 at (Compound 1) at Sarir oilfield due to the high temperature experienced in an electric generator.

The NOC explained on its website that the fire had resulted in a production loss of approximately 30,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The NOC indicated that the fire started at the field’s power station, cutting off electricity supply to (Compound 1).
