The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army of the Presidential Council Mohammed Al-Sharif said their forces were advancing on Khalifa Haftar's forces on different frontlines in southern Tripoli.
The remarks came in a meeting for Al-Sharif with the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj on Sunday, when they discussed the conditions on the fighting axes.
Al-Sharif reiterated that the Libyan Army forces and the backup forces are fighting well according to the military plans and tactics.
A European fact-finding mission held several meetings on Sunday in Tripoli with mayors of Tripoli and western region's cities as well as civil societies and political parties.
The meetings aim to constitute a reality about the ongoing fighting in Tripoli after Khalifa Haftar's attack.
The European mission arrived in Tripoli on Saturday upon the invitation of the High Council of State.
The deputy head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Ahmed Mitig, has requested the US to exert pressure on its allies that are meddling in Libya by backing up Khalifa Haftar's attack on Tripoli and make them stay out of Libya.
"We urge the US administration to use its leverage to end the support provided by Egypt and Saudi Arabia to Haftar." Mitig told Fox News on Saturday.
