Libya's NOC: May oil revenues reach 2.3 billion dollars

Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) said it had recorded a May income of $2.3 billion from sales of crude oil and derived products, in addition to taxes and royalties received from concession contracts.

In a statement on Thursday, NOC explained that the May revenues constitute a monthly increase of approximately $448 million (+24%).

Juwaili: Liberation of Gharyan is a U-turn in Tripoli's fighting

The commander of western operations room of the Presidential Council Osama Juwaili said "liberating Gharyan from Khalifa Haftar's forces on Wednesday constitutes a radical change of realities in the ongoing war."

In a statement, Juwaili said the city of Gharyan was entirely captured by the Libyan Army forces who killed and injured many fighters from Haftar's forces and arrested many others.

The Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) has dropped UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame’s name from its advisory board after The Democracy and Human Rights Foundation (DHRF) submitted a formal complaint to the United Nations Secretary-General and the United Nations Office for Internal Oversight demanding an investigation into Salame’s possible financial and political ties to the United Arab Emirates.

Al-Sarraj calls on African countries to have better stance toward Libya's crisis

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj urged Wednesday the African Union's High Ranking Committee on Libya to correct its stance toward the ongoing crisis in the country, expressing bewilderment about the silence of the African Union while an African capital is under attack.

Al-Sarraj's remarks came in his meeting with the head of the committee and President of Congo in Brazzaville.

Libyan Army forces retake Gharyan city in a major blow to Haftar's forces

The Libyan Army's Volcano of Rage Operation said Wednesday afternoon that it had seized control of most parts of Gharyan city, including military camps and operations room of Khalifa Haftar's forces.

Briefing media about the development, the operation said its forces had seized downtown Gharyan areas, the city's hospital and other major and vital institutions and areas in line with "a courageous uprising by the residents of Gharyan against the dictatorship."
