The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki told reporters Thursday that there can be no military solution to the Libyan crisis.
Faki told French newspaper Jeune Afrique that the Libyan Reconciliation Conference that is scheduled in next July in Addis Ababa won't be held till a ceasefire is reached in Tripoli.
The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sanallah accused Wednesday "foreign countries" of launching disinformation campaigns against the NOC and himself due the success of the oil firm and the soaring production rates and revenues.
Speaking at the annual Oslo Forum in Norway, Sanallah indicated that the collapse of the oil sector would undoubtedly lead to a humanitarian crisis, adding that oil sector workers are being put in harm's way by people who are using oil facilities for military purposes.
Joint operations room of western Libya said its forces had destroyed four air defense systems (Pantsir S-1) used by Khalifa Haftar's forces and three ammunition vehicles in airstrikes on last Tuesday.
In a statement on Thursday, the room said their fighter jets had destroyed Sukhoi 22 warplane at Al-Watiya airbase on Wednesday, in addition to howitzer artillery, and a tank and seized some vehicles.
Libyan Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani has called on citizens to stand with the Government of National Accord (GNA), and on the government to carry out its duties and support the war-wounded and battlefronts with all the means available.
"The government should integrate with its people and not accept any compliment at the expense of the national interest," Sheikh Al-Gharyani said.
