Libya takes part in the "5 + 5" College of Defence meeting

The Libyan Ministry of Defence participated on Wednesday in the meeting of the academic committee of the "5 + 5 Defence" College, with the chairmanship of Malta.

The Libyan delegation was represented by Captain Ibrahim al-Mabrouk from the International Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Defence and Colonel Fawzi al-Jamil from the Command and Staff College of the General Staff, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defence on Facebook.

Wadi Zamzam opens surgery department in the village hospital

The Zamzam Village Hospital, located in Wadi Zamzam Municipality, 100 km east of Misurata, has developed a surgery department to improve the service delivered to the local people of the area.

An opening ceremony was held on Tuesday to mark the occasion with the participation of the Local Council members and doctors of the Field Hospital.

Sisi holds meeting in Cairo with Haftar and Saleh

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held a meeting on Wednesday with Khalifa Haftar and Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aqila Saleh in Cairo in the presence of Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel.

The Egyptian Presidency said the meeting discussed latest developments in Libya and efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and push forward the UN-led peace process.

Al-Sirraj, Al-Mishri stress need to demilitarize Sirte and Jufra

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj and the Head of the High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri reiterated Wednesday the need to demilitarize Sirte and Jufra.

The two officials stressed in a meeting in Tripoli the need to commit to ceasefire and end of fighting across Libya, reiterating the need for the resumption of oil production and exports to be under the sole oversight of the National Oil Corporation in Tripoli.

Sanallah, German ambassador to Libya discuss security at oil ports

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sanallah discussed with German ambassador to Libya Oliver Owcza the security status at oil ports and fields as well as the gradual resumption of oil production.

The meeting Tuesday saw Sanallah reiterate that the NOC was following closely the security situation at the oil facilities as production would be resumed, in addition to prioritizing the safety of the workers as well as facilities and equipment.

They also talked about cooperation between NOC and German firms in oil and gas operations.

Helicopter carrying Russia's Wagner mercenaries crashes in Libya's Sokna

The spokesman for the Libyan Government of National Accord’s Sirte-Jufra Operations Room Abdelhadi Drah said that a helicopter carrying Russian fighters crashed western Sokna, near Jufra airbase.

A source from Sokna told The Libya Observer Wednesday that the helicopter was carrying Wagner Group mercenaries and ammunition, saying its crashing accident caused explosions for several hours.
