PC member Zayed discusses with the Turkish ambassador developments of Libyan political talks

The Presidential Council (PC) member, Mohamed Ammari Zayed, discussed during his meeting with the Turkish ambassador to Libya, Serhat Aksen, on Monday, the political track towards resolution of the Libyan crisis and the outcomes of the Morocco, Geneva, and Egypt, meetings.

Ammari pointed to the initiative he recently put forward regarding holding parliamentary elections based on the constitutional declaration and the current election law, provided that all parties respect and adhere to the outcomes of the elections.

NOC: Oil production to reach 260 thousand barrels per day within a week

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has said it is proceeding with arrangements to resume export operations from safe ports, confirming tankers will arrive consecutively from tomorrow, Wednesday, to ship the available stock of crude oil.

The NOC expects the total production next week to reach 260 thousand barrels per day, with the continued shipment of crude from the remaining ports which are not occupied by armed groups, according to the NOC statement on Facebook.

Bashagha, German ambassador discuss political developments and solutions to Libya's crisis

The Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha met Monday with the German ambassador to Libya Oliver Owcza and discussed political developments and solutions to the Libyan crisis.

Bashagha and Owcza talked at the Interior Ministry headquarters in Tripoli about cooperation in security as the latter expressed Berlin's keenness to resolve the Libyan crisis politically without foreign intervention, while Bashagha thanked Germany for its efforts in resolving the conflict in Libya.

NCQAA holds workshop on national universities ranking project

The National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions (NCQAA) in Libya has organized a workshop on the Libyan University Classification project, launched by the NCQAA earlier this month.

The step comes within the framework of rehabilitating Libyan universities competing in the Libyan universities ranking, for the year 2020, the NCQAA said on its website.

Tightened security measures in Benghazi ahead of protests

Benghazi in eastern Libya has seen strict security measures and deployment of pro-Haftar armed men on main streets ahead of protests.

Haftar's forces have set up checkpoints on the streets to search for certain people ahead of protests scheduled for Monday evening to call for better living conditions.

Haftar's forces have also made arrests of several people in Benghazi for fear they would be part of the protests.

The High Council of State (HCS) has concord to continue support to the dialogue sessions aimed at resolving the conflict in the country, suggesting to broaden the discussion on the three main tracks of the dialogue with all elected bodies.

The HCS discussed, during an official session yesterday in Tripoli, developments in the political dialogue, in the presence of 85 members, according to a statement by the HCS media office on Facebook.
