Algeria confirms readiness to assist Libya at all levels

Algeria has stated its willingness to stand with the Libyan people at all levels, including providing assistance in army and police rehabilitation programs, as well as playing a role in the national reconciliation file.

The statement was made by Algerian Ambassador to Libya, Kamal Abdel Qader, on behalf of his government during his meeting on Sunday with the head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, at the council's HQ in Tripoli.

Libya loses 2-1 to Comoros in friendly game

Libya's national football team has lost its match against its Comoros opponent, with two goals to one, during a friendly game that took place in the Tunisian capital, in preparation for the 2022 African Nations Cup qualifications.

The first half of the match looked well for the Mediterranean Knights as the Comoros defender shot by mistake the ball in his teams' net, giving the Libyans the lead.

Al-Sarraj discusses political solution with EU, Italy and Algeria's ambassadors

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj discussed Sunday with the Italian, Algerian and European Union ambassadors to Libya the three tracks for solution to the country’s crisis: economic, political and security; as per Berlin Conference conclusions.

The meetings saw reiteration on the importance of resuming oil production and ensuring no blockades will be imposed one more time.

RFI says Haftar used his private jet to smuggle gold, launder money

Radio France Internationale (RFI) said Khalifa Haftar has been using his private plane, Falcon 900, for money laundering and smuggling gold out of Libya.

RFI said Haftar’s Falcon 900 landed in Turkey twice last July and then landed during the same period in Abu Dhabi, while it then landed at the private Emirati airport of Al Batine, which is reserved for businessmen.

NOC has lifted force majeure on Libya's Sharara oilfield

The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced it is lifting force majeure on Sharara oilfield, the country’s largest oil producer, after reaching an (a honor agreement) with pro-Haftar Petroleum Facilities Guard.

In a statement on Sunday, the NOC said it had instructed the operator of the southwestern oilfield, Acacus, to start production arrangements, taking into consideration public safety and process safety standards.

UNSMIL conditions participation in Libyan dialogue to abstaining from holding government positions

UNSMIL conditioned the participation in Libyan dialogue in Tunisia to abstaining from holding government or sovereign positions.

UNSMIL said in a statement the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) will be held according to a hybrid formula, through a series of virtual sessions as well as face-to-face meetings.
