African Union says ready to assist in implementing ceasefire in Libya

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki has reiterated the African Union’s readiness to assist in the implementation of the ceasefire and to contribute to create the necessary conditions for the resumption of dialogue between all Libyan stakeholders for a durable solution.

The Chairperson welcomed in a statement the signing of a ceasefire between the parties in Libya following negotiations within the framework of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in Geneva.

The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh has reiterated support for the ceasefire agreement signed in Geneva on Friday.

In a joint press conference with the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Saleh said Libyans don’t want war but rather they want peace, adding that he looks forward to carrying out dialogue rounds with the support of Rabat to push for a political solution.

Oil operations resume at Nafura field as NOC lifts force majeure on new ports

The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (Agoco), based in Benghazi, announced on Saturday the resumption of operations at the Nafoura field after the National Oil Corporation (NOC) lifted on Friday the force majeure status on the ports of Sidra and Ras Lanuf.

The company confirmed in a statement that preparations are underway to restart the field and resume production operations to pump crude through pipelines to Ras Lanuf Port.
