LFF releases list of players for Chan 2021

The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) on Monday released the list for the Libyan national team for local players that will participate in the African Nations Championship (Chan), scheduled to take place in Cameroon between January 16 to February 7, 2021.

The national team includes 28 players from seven clubs that are playing in Libya's premier league, which was suspended for about 18 months.

Antiquities Authority calls for urgent action against smuggling artifacts

The Antiquities Authority has reported attempts to steal artifacts from an unexplored archaeological site south of Tripoli.

A technical and security committee has been formed in coordination with the security authorities to protect the site and assess the damage caused, the Antiquities Authority confirmed on Facebook.

A local farmer from the area who fled his home during the war contacted the authorities after noticing some unearthing work on his farm.

Turkey's Defense Ministry continues Libyan Army training

The Turkish Armed Forces have provided the Libyan Navy under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) with five weeks of training in underwater warfare, a statement by the Turkish Defense Ministry explained Sunday.

The statement said that the move is part of Turkey’s commitment to Libya based on agreements between the two countries.

Egypt's Foreign Minister phones Libyan counterpart

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has phoned his Libyan counterpart Mohammad Sayala and discussed developments in Libya as well as Cairo’s support to stability in the country, spokesman Mohammad Al-Giblawi said Monday.

The spokesman of the Libyan Foreign Ministry of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said Shoukry hailed the welcome of the Egyptian delegation by GNA officials in Tripoli, hoping the visit would pave the way for more cooperation between Cairo and Tripoli.
