Libya, Algeria agree to expand cooperation in producing and distributing electricity, gas

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) signed Sunday an agreement with Algeria's Sonelgaz to expand cooperation in gas and electricity production and distribution.

GECOL's CEO, Weam Al-Abdeli, said in a press conference in Algeria after signing the agreement that cooperation with Algeria came after exchanges of work between the two sectors as Sonelgaz's teams helped last October to repair Al-Khums power plant in ten days.

Maiteeq promises urgent measures to meet the Libyan Iron and Steel Company's demands

The Libyan Iron and Steel Company has expressed satisfaction at Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq, for his receptiveness to the company's demands.

"Maiteeq had promised to take urgent measures to solve the company's problems and follow them directly with the relevant authorities at home and abroad," a statement by the company said on Facebook.
