5+5 JMC: Sirte ready to host Libyan HoR session

The 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) said Sunday Sirte was ready to host the session of the House of Representatives (HoR) to grant confidence to the Government of National Unity (GNU).

The JMC said in a statement, responding to HoR Speaker Aqila Saleh's request for them to secure the session in Sirte on March 08, that all members of the JMC agreed that Sirte was ready and secure for the confidence-granting session of the HoR.

AFP: UN experts' report cites bribes for Libya dialogue members for Dbeibah votes

A UN panel of experts' report on Libya, cited by Agence France Press (AFP) Sunday, revealed that at least three participants in UN-led Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) were bribed for votes.

The UN experts' report is set to be presented to the Security Council in March, and it found that during the Tunisia-held LPDF talks, two participants “offered bribes of between $150,000 to $200,000 to at least three LPDF participants if they committed to vote for Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah as Prime Minister.”

Inter-Parliamentary Union urges for revealing probe results into MP's abduction

The Inter-Parliamentary Union called for unveiling investigation results of the east-based Abdullah Al-Thinni government about the abduction of female House of Representatives' member, Siham Sirgiwa.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union expressed disappointment at the lack of cooperation by the House of Representatives (HoR) in Sirgiwa's case, adding that such a conduct cast doubt at the HoR's impartiality.

General Tourism Authority marks National Heritage Day

Al-Bakoush: 12 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to arrive within the next few weeks

The Head of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Combating Coronavirus, Khalifa Al-Bakoush has confirmed that the first batch of the Covid-19 vaccine will arrive within the next few weeks.

In a joint press conference with the Director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Al-Bakoush said that a total of 12 million doses of coronavirus vaccine will be delivered to Libya by the end of March. "We have contracted four companies to import the vaccines," he added.
