National Institute for Oncology activates IMRT facility

Director of the National Institute for Oncology Dr. Mohammed Al-Faqih announced that the therapeutic radiology department began treatment with Intensive Technology (IMRT) for the first time in Libya.

Dr. Al-Faqih praised the Medical Physics and technicians at the therapeutic radiology department for their achievements in this specialty.

Ministry of Education suspends classes due to significant COVID outbreak

The Ministry of Education has decided to temporarily suspend classes at all educational institutions until August 5, in line with the government's announcement to tighten restrictions due to a covid-19 outbreak.

The announcement came after a meeting between Education Minister Musa Al-Maqrif, the head and members of the scientific advisory committee at the ministry, and the Director of the National Center for Disease Control Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar.

The London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper has learned from independent Egyptian sources that mediation recently succeeded in bringing understandings between Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, and warlord Khalifa Haftar, stating that the two sides will meet very soon in Benghazi as a first stage.

Libya discusses cooperation with Jordan to localize autism treatment

The Minister of Health, Ali Al-Zanati, has discussed with a delegation from the Jordanian Academy of Autism, the mechanism of localizing the treatment of autism syndrome in Libya.

During the meeting, a mechanism for cooperation was identified through a service purchase contract to support the National Center for the Diagnosis and Technical Treatment of Autistic Children, and to train and transfer Jordanian expertise to national medical personnel internally and externally, especially in fields and specializations that do not exist in Libya.

Menfi confirms that security of southern Libya is Libyan and Algerian national security

The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Wednesday with the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the security file in southern Libya, as Menfi considered it a Libyan and Algerian national security.

This came during a joint press conference between the two sides, during which Menfi said that his talks with the Algerian side dealt with the opening of the border crossing between the two countries during this period.
