Four U.S. Senators from both the Democratic and Republican parties, namely, Lindsey Graham, Chris Coons, Todd Young, and Chris Murphy, have expressed their support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum members as they meet in Geneva to establish the constitutional basis and legal framework for December elections.
"We wish to convey our support and encouragement for the difficult decisions you must make this week in order to sustain positive momentum in the Libyan political process," the Senators said in a joint statement Wednesday.
Abdullah Al-Lafi, a member of the Presidential Council, in the capacity of the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army on Wednesday, participated in the Forum of the Parliament's Defence and National Security Committee in Tripoli.
Among the chief guests were First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Fawzi al-Nuwairi, MP's, members of the Defence and National Security Committee, commanders of the military regions, and members of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee.
