A Libyan coastal town overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, located approximately 75 km east of the capital, Tripoli, and is considered one of the suburbs of the Greater Tripoli area.

The town’s administrative scope extends from the town of Ghanima in the east to the Qarabulli  in the west via the coastal highway and is bordered by the sea to the north, and the city of Msallata to the south, it has been affiliated with the Tripoli municipality since 2012 and is considered the popular gateway to the eastern Tripoli.

The Head of vaccination management at the Libyan National Center for Disease Control, Abdelbasit Samiyo, said the epidemiological situation in Libya's west and south is very serious and concerning.

Samiyo urged on Libya Alahrar TV Channel the officials in eastern Libya to get ready by preparing quarantine centers and keeping a good stock of oxygen as well as medical equipment in case of increased spread.

The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah said the NOC will file a lawsuit against Sheikha Hend Al-Qassemi - a national of the United Arab Emirates - for claiming to be a board member of the NOC at CC Forum in Monaco and against the management of the forum for hosting her under that title.

Tarhuna's health system in crisis, local officials tell govt

Tarhuna's health system is in crisis, and the government has no plans to handle the situation, says the head of the Steering Council of Tarhuna, Muhammad al-Kasher.

Al-Kasher indicated in statements released by the council's media office that they have urged the government, time and again, to support the health system in Tarhuna, but services have remained in ruins for years.
