Italy sends medical equipment for four Libyan municipalities

Three municipalities, namely, Sabratha, Surman and Murzuq hospitals have received medical supplies from Rome, whilst a fourth, Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte received an electricity generator, according to the Italian embassy in Libya.

A statement by the embassy on Tuesday said that the equipment is the first batch within the Solidarity Bridge Initiative, within the second phase, in cooperation with the Ministries of Interior and Health of the Government of National Unity (GNU).

 

Libyan officials meet United Nations fact-finding mission's delegation

The Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush hosted in Tripoli a meeting with the United Nations fact-finding mission, headed by Mohammed Auajjar, in its first visit to Libya since the start of its mandate in August 2020.

Al-Mangoush and other ministers attended the meeting and discussed the mechanism for spreading the work of the commission across Libya in coordination with the Libyan Interior and Foreign Ministries.

Efforts to unify Central Bank of Libya may hit a roadblock

The efforts to unify the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) could face hindrances after after statements of the Deputy Governor and previous Governor of the parallel office of the CBL in eastern Libya, Ali Al-Habri, who accused the Governor Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir of abusing power and described him as "the sacked Governor" referring to an old House of Representatives' order that dismissed Al-Kabir but to no effect.

Al-Manqoush, Kubis stress the importance of fulfilling LPDF outcomes

Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Manqoush and UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis have stressed the importance of fulfilling the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), in addition to support the efforts of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in consolidating the ceasefire and working to unify the military institution.
