Saleh: Tripoli is under control of militias and entry can only happen using force

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh said that Tripoli is under the control of armed groups, saying the entry to the capital can only be via fighting, or with the consent of those armed groups.

Saleh added in a meeting in Sirte on Tuesday, held to discuss Bashagha government's budget, that in order to avoid bloodshed, Sirte is the guarantor of the government's liberation from armed groups.

Ministry of Defence dispels fears over military movements

The Ministry of Defence has informed residents that the military vehicles seen lately roaming some parts of the western region are moving under its command.

In view of public confusion over these military movements following the recent clashes in Tripoli, the Military Information Office of the Ministry of Defence issued a statement to allay those concerns.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has renewed its call for the release of all illegally detained persons.

In a tweet Monday, the mission confirmed its knowledge of the disappearance of Mansour Da'oub, the Military Prosecutor and Head of the Anti-Terrorism Unit in Tripoli.

"UNSMIL has been informed that Mr. Mansour Da’oub.. has been missing since 22 May, after he was allegedly summoned to the Special Deterrence Force HQ."

More than 200 local and foreign companies are participating in the Libya Build International Exhibition for Building and Construction in its 12th session that has kicked off on the grounds of the Tripoli International Fair.

On Monday, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of ministers, diplomatic missions, and private actors.
