Health Minister: Tripoli Medical teams to Sebha not allowed to help Bent Baya casualties

Deputy Prime Minister, and Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Boujnah, has said that all medical teams and planes which left from Maitiga Airport to Sebha were intercepted and not allowed to help the injured of the Bent Bayah accident.

Boujnah made this disclosure in a press conference about Bent Baya accident, he held at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital in Tripoli, which was posted on ‘Our Government's Platform’ on Facebook.

HCS re-elects Khaled Al-Mashri as president for 5th term running

 The High Council of State has re-elected its current president, Khaled Al-Mashri, as president for the 5th term in office, after obtaining 65 out of 115 votes of the Council members who participated in the second round of voting.

Al-Mashri won by getting 65 votes, while his rival, Al-Ajili Abusdail, got only 50 votes, after both qualified for the second round, as they obtained the highest number of votes and the withdrawal of the other two candidates, Abdul Salam Al-Safrani and Fathallah Al-Sariri.

Al-Muntaser: Families of Haftar's victims could receive up to $250 million

Warlord Khalif Haftar may have to pay the families of his victims up to $150 million, the head of the Democracy and Human Rights Foundation, Emadadin Al-Muntaser, says.

On Friday, a Federal U.S court ruled against Haftar in a multiple war crimes case brought against him by Libyan plaintiffs in 2019 and 2020, allowing the families of the victims to seek compensation.

Fuel explosion kills six in Sabha

Six people were killed and many others injured after a truck carrying gasoline exploded in Sabha, local sources have confirmed.

The fuel truck collided early Monday in the Bint Baya district on the road linking Sabha and Ubari.

Onlookers rushed to the over-turned tanker to collect the spilling fuel despite the risk, eyewitnesses said.

The truck burst into flames long after the accident, killing six people and burning more than 50 others, according to the Health Ministry.
