Tripoli Municipal Council appealed on Saturday to the international community to protect civilians in Libya, calling on the residents of Tripoli to stand united against the encroachments that endanger their lives.

The Tripoli Municipal Council, made the appeal, following reports of casualties among civilians after the renewed violent clashes in a number of neighborhoods of the capital, Tripoli, according to the Tripoli Ambulance and Emergency Service, Saturday morning.

Menfi arrives in Tunisia to participate in TIKAD

President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, arrived on Friday in Tunis, where he was welcomed by the Tunisia President, Kais Saied, to take part in the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TIKAD), taking place in Tunis.

TICAD 8 is due   to kick off on Saturday, in the presence of a number of African head of states and governments, and will conclude Sunday, according to a statement by the media office of the Presidential Council.

Electoral commission ends force majeure that prevented last year’s elections

The head of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, has announced the end of force majeure, which made it impossible to hold elections on December 24, last year.

He made it clear that the delay in receiving election laws last year was the primary reason for the force majeure.

The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, met in Paris Thursday with the CEO of French oil company Total, Patrick Pouyanné, and discussed TotalEnergies’ multi-energy strategy and activities in Libya, as well as the ongoing implementation of the strategic agreements signed with the Libyan authorities in November 2021 for the sustainable development of the country’s natural resources.
