Libyan NOC says worker died, another injured in well explosion

The Libyan National Oil Corporation announced Thursday that an explosion took place in the nitrogen unit of well A55 in the Entissar field of the Zueitina Oil Company, saying that it had resulted in the death of one person and injury of another.

The NOC said that the man who died was a worker from the Al-Nisr Company, which is carrying out work on the A55 well of the Zueitina Company.

Dbeibah asks Saleh and Al-Mishri to approve constitutional basis for Libya elections

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, called on Thursday on the Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri, and Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh to "release Libyans" by approving a constitutional basis for elections.

Dbeibah added at a government meeting in Tripoli that no one will believes that the agreement on one disputed article needs this much time after the HoR and HCS have deprived Libyans of elections over the last eight years.

Broad government meeting to discuss medical supplies

The Government of National Unity has convened a broad meeting with regulatory institutions to discuss three files related to the provision of medicine and meeting the medical supply needs of the country’s health facilities.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, his deputy, Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, and several officials representing national agencies, programmes and major hospitals.

UNDP devises new plan for Libya

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its national partners from across the country discussed how to implement its new Country Programme Document (CPD) for Libya for the 2023 to 2025 period, as an event had convened by the Ministry of Planning while over 25 partners and ministries contributed critical inputs to ensure the successful delivery of the programme.

"The Programme is set to be presented and adopted by the Executive Board of UNDP in New York in September." UNPD said in a statement.

Zeninga: High Court has jurisdiction to reactivate Constitutional Chamber

The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Rizdon Zeninga, has stressed the jurisdiction of the High Court as a sovereign institution in reactivating the Constitutional Chamber, underscoring the importance of preserving independence and unity of the judiciary.

This came during Zeninga's meeting with the President of the High Court, Mohamed Al-Hafi, Wednesday, who briefed him on the history of the Constitutional Chamber of the High Court and the recent decision by the General Assembly to reactivate the chamber.

Dbeibah to Bashagha: Focus on entering elections and stop coup delusions

The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has called on Fathi Bashagha to stop sending letters and threats of war as well as targeting civilians.

This came in Dbeibah's response to Bashagha's letter on Wednesday, when the latter asked the PM, calling him ex-PM, to leave his post peacefully and commit to democracy and peaceful circulation of power.
