Tunisia is looking forward to buying Libyan oil at preferential prices

The Head of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, Samir Majoul, asked the National Oil Corporation to supply oil to Tunisia through long-term contracts, preferential prices and payment facilitation.

The delegation of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts concluded its visit to Libya with a workshop held with the Minister of Housing and Construction of the Government of National Unity, Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, on Thursday.

Cavusoglu: No stakeholder can play Turkey's role in Libya

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that there is no other stakeholder in Libya that can play Turkey's role, adding in a speech Thursday, during the end-of-year evaluation meeting at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the results of the Turkish role in Libya have been ongoing since 2019, in reference to the two memoranda of understanding, military agreement and the demarcation of maritime borders which were signed with the former Government of National Accord in November 2019.

GECOL enhances grid with 21 new power stations

Tripoli Port received on Friday 21 ready-made power stations as part of the General Electricity Company of Libya's (GECOL) plan to improve the electrical grid.

In a Facebook statement, the Hakomitna platform said the stations, which will generate a capacity of 500 to 1,500 megavolts, will help the GECOL overcome bottlenecks and alleviate power shortages throughout Libya.

German Ambassador: Date of elections is in the hands of the Libyan people

The German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, said on Friday that the postponement of holding elections in Libya is borne by the Libyan people before any other party.

In an interview with the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Ohnmacht stressed the importance of finding a solution to the long-awaited elections in Libya, as he urged Libyans to take this decision themselves.

UNICEF: Water shortage threatens 4 million people in Libya

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has expressed concern about the deteriorating water, sanitation, and hygiene situation in Libya, saying that more than four million people, including 1.5 million children, will face imminent water problems if the issue remains unaddressed.

The head of UNICEF's Communications Office in Libya, Suad Al-Marrani, said that they based their report on the Man-made River statuses and Water Desalination project, as the frequent attacks on these facilities destroyed 190 wells.

Libyan detained in Niger for alleged involvement in African smuggling ring

Authorities in Niger have arrested a 29-year-old Libyan national suspected of leading a ring smuggling African migrants from Niger to Europe, a source from the French police has confirmed.

Agence France Presse quoted the police official as saying that a joint investigation by Nigerien, French and Spanish police led to the arrest of the Libyan national.
