The bodies of the three children of Libyan businessman Riyad Al-Shershari have been found after over two years of abduction.

The bodies of the three children, who were abducted in December 2015, were found Saturday afternoon in a wood to the south of Sorman, some 60 km to western Tripoli.

The western criminal investigations office said that after interrogating the boss of the kidnapping gang, Al-Nimer Al-Mahjoubi, he confessed to killing the children and burying them in Baraem wood.

"We immediately told the public prosecution and forensic doctors to go to the burial location, where the bodies were dug out." It added.

Forensic reports from Sorman Hospital said the three children were killed at least two years ago, saying they weren't shot. No cause of death has been announced yet.

The killer was arrested by the investigations office on March 15, 2018, while his siblings were killed in the same operation. Together, they were a very dangerous abduction, killing, and banditry gang in western Libya.

The kidnappers asked for a ransom of huge money figures for the children: Dahab, Mohammed and Abdelhamid.
