Brother of the journalist photographer at Libya TV Channel, Suhaib Al-Shabel, confirmed that his brother Salim Al-Shabel was released after 16 days of detention in a demonstration in Tripoli’s Martyrs Square.

Suahaib said the Attorney General ordered the release of his brother Salim on Wednesday, saying he is well and arrived at home in the evening, pointing out that the South Tripoli Court extended on Tuesday the detention of Salim for 15 more days over criminal charges , yet the Attorney General set him free Wednesday.

However, the Head of the Foreign Media Office, Jamal Zubia and the activist Salim Gashout, who both are political activists opposed to the UN-proposed government, are still detained without being charged yet.

Zubia and Gashout were detained by an armed group in a demonstration in Tripoli’s Martyrs Square and they were not accused of any wrongdoing, while Salim Al-Shabel, who was detained on the same day, was accused of gun-toting without a license and drinking alcohol.
