SDF thwarts attempt to smuggle electrical materials through Tripoli Port
The Special Deterrent Force (SDF) said it had seized a cargo ship in the port of Tripoli on Monday, which is suspected to contain electrical materials believed to belong to the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL).
The SDF explained through its Facebook page that they received information about two companies that intend to export around 100 containers from the port with dubious customs declarations.
The SDF added that its forces found during their inspection of a number of containers, that the shipment included large quantities of copper, power lines, and high-voltage electricity towers.
The export process was discontinued by the Attorney General Office, which ordered the formation of an inspection committee, composed of several security agencies, according to the SDF Facebook page.
