Seven people have been brutally tortured before being murdered in Benghazi, local sources reported.

Their bodies were found handcuffed with signs of torture in a landfill in Zeet Street in Shabna district. They were all murdered with gunshots to the head.

Three of them have been identified while investigations are still ongoing to identify the others.

“Two of the identified bodies were arrested by Saiqa Forces days ago,” the sources said.

The killers are yet to be identified. There are fears that the case will be neglected as the previous ones. In October 2016, 10 people were murdered and thrown in the same landfill. In July of the same year, bodies of 14 civilians were found in a landfill in Lathi neighborhood.

Murder for political ends has increased in the war-torn city. Political opponents of Dignity Operation have become targets for the militia groups controlling the city.
