The Chairman of the Committee for the Opening and Activation of the Libyan National Museum, Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, held a meeting with a number of ambassadors from Arab and foreign countries to discuss the ongoing preparations for the opening of the National Museum next April.
According to a statement from the government media, the attendees were briefed by a comprehensive presentation about the museum’s components, its various sections, and the modern designs used in its development. The presentation also highlighted the efforts that showcase Libya’s cultural and historical heritage and emphasize the importance of the museum as a landmark documenting the successive civilizations that have shaped the country.
Al-Lafi reaffirmed that the museum represents a cultural window reflecting the depth of Libyan history and strengthening national identity, in addition to its role in supporting cultural tourism and attracting visitors and researchers from around the world.
He explained that the museum will be modeled after international museums in terms of the technologies, as it has been equipped with the latest technological and interactive methods for displaying artifacts, in line with global standards for museums. He also stressed the importance of international cooperation in preserving cultural heritage.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of partnership with international institutions specializing in museums and antiquities to ensure the museum operates according to the highest international standards, contributing to the protection of cultural heritage and enhancing its role in Libya’s cultural and tourism development.
