The National Oil Corporation (NOC) reports that technical teams from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) have successfully completed crucial repairs, leading to the reactivation of nine previously closed wells in the As Sidra Oil Field.
These wells are estimated to contribute approximately 4,000 barrels of crude oil per day to the field's production.
In a statement released Sunday, the Corporation detailed the repairs, which included addressing faults in the high-pressure electricity network supplying four wells (C-178, C-221A, C-227, C-242) and repairing leaks in the flow lines of four other wells (C-82, C128, C-264, C348). Additionally, the electrical and mechanical connections for well C-309 were completed.
The Corporation highlighted that the initiative is part of its strategy to enhance production levels, commending AGOCO's swift execution of the repairs and its workforce for their dedicated efforts.
On its part, AGOCO confirmed that the repair operation, completed in just one week, was a collaborative effort involving maintenance teams at the As Sidra field, supported by various departments and units.
Last Thursday, AGOCO concluded comprehensive maintenance on Well L84, aligning with the National Oil Corporation's directives to increase production capacity.
The maintenance activities included isolating depleted layers and treating new oil layers. Well L84 had been offline since 2021 due to a high percentage of associated water, resulting in minimal daily production of only 49 barrels of oil.
Post-reactivation well tests revealed substantial production potential, with output surpassing 580 barrels of oil per day. Notably, the associated water ratio plummeted to just 4%, signifying significant operational improvements according to AGOCO's report.
