The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huweij, attended the meeting of the Arab Ministers of Economy, Trade and Finance in Algeria, in preparation for the economic file of the work of the 31st Arab Summit.

Al-Huweij discussed with the Arab ministers on Saturday a number of topics, including the establishment of the Arab Customs Union, the Arab vision for the digital economy, the completion of the requirements of the Greater Arab Trade Area, and the liberalization of merchandise trade among Arab countries.

The ministers stressed the importance of Arab space cooperation, sustainable Arab agricultural development, and the development of an Arab strategy for food and drug security.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Huweij discussed with a number of economy ministers the possibility of activating transit trade and free zones linking Libya with neighboring countries.
