The head of the bakers' union Kharis Mohammad, confirmed that bakeries will reopen their stores on Monday after reaching an agreement with the control authorities.

Kharis indicated that there was no decision to reinstate the previous price of bread as it will be sold at the same price before closing due to the continuing high price of flour.

"If the flour price goes down, we are ready to bring the price of bread back to its previous level, said Kharis in a press statement.

Meanwhile, the head of the Supreme Committee for Follow-up of Bakeries formed by the government confirmed that bakeries would return to work and sell at the previous price before the closure of bakeries until a committee was formed to set the prices according to the cost of ingredients used in making bread.

On Saturday, the Syndicate of Bakers announced the closure of all bakeries in Tripoli in protest against the high price of ingredients used in making bread.
