The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah asked the Ministry of Finance to provide the cabinet with data on the balances of the accounts of embassies and diplomatic missions according to the approved sections of the budget within 10 days from the date of the letter published by the Hakometna platform on its Facebook page.
Dbeibah referred in the letter to his meeting with the Minister of Finance, Khalid Al-Mabrouk, last Wednesday in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and a number of officials of departments affiliated with the Finance Ministry, during which the bank balances of embassies and diplomatic missions were discussed.
He told the Minister of Finance that he should assign financial controllers in embassies and diplomatic missions urgently to provide him with data on the balances of the accounts of embassies and diplomatic missions, asking the Foreign Ministry to issue instructions to the heads of missions for cooperation so that the financial controllers can perform their assigned mission.
Dbeibah stressed the need to take administrative measures against the financial controllers who violate their tasks in accordance with the legal procedures followed in this regard, provided that the reports are referred within ten days from its start.
