Dbeibah

‎The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said that "I succeeded in adopting difficult policies that ensure that oil is neutralized from any political exploitation, and its revenues are spent in accordance with state legislation in a manner consistent with governance and oversight."

He added during his speech at the opening of the third edition of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit in Tripoli, on Saturday, that his government worked to overcome the difficulties that the sector faced over the years, and provided the necessary resources to solve the sector's crises, which contributed to increasing crude oil production to 1.413 million barrels per day, from 800.000 barrels before his government took office.

He pointed to the operation of ten oil fields that were not working or sabotaged, with a total production of about 69.000 barrels per day, including the Erawan and North Hamada fields, and the latest of which is the Camelia field.

Dbeibah said, addressing foreign investors: "The Ministry of Oil and Gas and the National Oil Corporation are preparing to launch new rounds of announcements (tenders) to increase production capacity." He pointed out the launching of the "Libya's Greens" initiative and the endeavor to plant 100 million trees throughout Libya, ensuring the improvement of the environment and combating climate change.

This is the third edition of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit, attended by a number of foreign energy companies, investors and decision-makers, with the aim of securing investments and enhancing the growth of the energy and infrastructure sector in Libya.

Energy Capital & Power, the summit organizer, explained that its aim is to highlight Libya's potential in the field of energy and renewable energy, and to shed light on emerging opportunities, with a focus on the licensing round that the National Oil Corporation is preparing to offer for a number of onshore and offshore oil areas.
