The Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Huweij, discussed with the Head of the US Chamber of Commerce the possibility of returning American firms to Libya to resume their halted projects.

The meeting online was held on Monday in the presence of Libyan Investment Encouragement Authority, Jamal Al-Nuwaisri, and reviewed boosting corporation with the US in trade and investments.

Al-Huweij said the Ministry of Economy is working to activate projects to turn into digital economy and exchange expertise, particularly in oil and gas industry as well as alternative energies.

Al-Nuwaisri reiterated the importance of a real partnership between local and foreign investors, saying the Libyan investment laws had given incentives and assurances to investors, including no taxes and customs tariffs for five years.
